Recently the author introduced and studied a new rational interpolation procedure for vector-valued functions, defined via the solution of a linear least-squares problem and denoted by IMPE. Here de Montessus and Koenig type theorems are proved when rational functions \[ F(z)=u(z)+\sum_{s=1}^m\frac{v_s}{z-z_s} \] are approximated and the points of interpolation are chosen appropriately. Here \(u(z)\) is a vector-valued polynomial, \(z_1,\ldots, z_m\) are distinct nonzero complex numbers, and \(v_1,\ldots, v_m\) form an orthogonal set with respect to the inner product used to define IMPE.
