The authors propose a new version of EDSSP (enhance-discretization selective stabilization procedure) where the SUPG (streamline-upwind/Petrov-Galerkin) and PSPG (pressure-stability/ Petrov-Galerkin) stabilizations are used for unknowns corresponding to both large and small scales, but the DC (discontinuity-capturing) stabilizations are used only for unknowns corresponding to small scales. The authors also provide a version where a linear DC is used for small-scale unknowns and a nonlinear DC is used for large-scale unknowns. The performances of these versions of EDSSP are evaluated with test problems governed by advection-diffusion equations.
