    The authors prove the compactness and connectedness of the attainability set for the reaction-diffusion system of the form \[ \begin{cases} \frac{\partial u}{\partial t} -a\triangle u +f(t,u) = h(t,x), \quad (t,x) \in (\tau, T) \times \Omega, \\ u_{\mid x \in \partial \Omega} = 0, \quad u_{t = \tau} = u_\tau (x), \end{cases} \] where \(\Omega \subset \mathbb{R}^d\) is a bounded open subset with smooth boundary, \(u(t,x) \in \mathbb{R}^d,\) \(a\) is a \((d \times d)\)-matrix, \(f: [\tau,T] \times \mathbb{R}^d \rightarrow \mathbb{R}^d,\) and \(h \in L^2(\tau, T; (L^2(\Omega))^d).\) This system includes the complex Ginzburg-Landau equation and the Lotka-Volterra system with diffusion as partial cases. It is shown also that the global attractor of this system is connected in both autonomous and non-autonomous cases.
