A linear fractional map \(M\) of \(\mathbb C^n\) is a map of the form \(M(z)=\frac{Az+b}{\left< z,c\right>+\beta}\), where \(z,b,c\in \mathbb C^n\), \(\beta\in \mathbb C\) and \(A\) is an \(n\times n\) matrix over \(\mathbb C\). \(M\) is said to be a linear fractional map of the (closed) unit ball \(\mathbb B_n\) (denoted by \(M\in LFT(\mathbb B_n)\)) if \(M\) is defined in a neighborhood of \(\mathbb B_n\) and if \(M(\mathbb B_n)\subseteq \mathbb B_n\). In the paper under review, the author studies these maps as well as the associated Hardy-Hilbert-space composition operators \(C_\phi\), with main emphasis on a classification of the parabolic maps \(\phi \in LFT(\mathbb B_n)\). A characterization of those parabolic symbols \(\phi\in LFT(\mathbb B_n)\) is given for which \(C_\phi\) is hypercyclic, supercyclic or cyclic. Another quite impressive result is the determination of the spectra of these \(C_\phi\). To achieve his goals, the author makes an intensive use of the Paley-Wiener theorem and the Bargmann transforms. The characterizations above are done by introducing the normal form and signature of parabolic linear fractional maps. These two notions are also important to unveil the geometric properties of these maps; especially to compute their characteristic domain and to determine how the orbits converge to the Denjoy-Wolff fixed point on the boundary.
