    The authors consider \(l_{p}\)-estimates for the lengths of the gaps in the spectrum of the periodic Zakharov-Shabat operator \[ J\;\frac{d}{d t} + V, \;V = \left( \begin{matrix} V_{1} & V_{2} \\ V_{2} & - V_{1} \end{matrix} \right), \;\;\;J = \left( \begin{matrix} 0 & 1 \\ - 1 & 0 \end{matrix} \right), \] where \(V\) is a real \(2 \times 2\) matrix-valued function on \(\mathbb{R}\) and \(V \in L^{1} (0,1).\)
