In the literature, many different proofs of the celebrated Hardy inequality as well as its generalizations are known, one approach is via the mixed mean inequality [\textit{A. Čižmešija} and \textit{J. Pečarić}, Math. Inequal. Appl. 1, No.~4, 491--506 (1998; Zbl 0921.26015)]. Using this, the authors established a simpler proof of a result of Holland concerning a mixed arithmetic-geometric mean inequality. Also a result on the mixed-mean inequality involving symmetric means is shown.
