The paper is concerned with the partial neutral functional differential equation with infinite delay \[ \begin{cases}\frac{d}{dt}(x(t)+F(t,x_t))=-Ax(t)+G(t,x_t),&t\in [0,T],\\ x_0=\varphi\in{\mathcal P},\end{cases}\tag{P} \] where \(-A\) generates an analytic compact \(C_0\)-semigroup on a Banach space \(X\), \({\mathcal P}\) is the phase space and \(F,\,G:[0,T]\times{\mathcal P}\to X\) are defined in a subspace of \(X\), namely \(D(A^{\alpha})\) for some \(0<\alpha<1\), the domain of the fractional power of \(A\), and verify some additional assumptions. Using Sadovskii's fixed-point theorem, the author proves the existence of mild solutions of (P). Then he gives sufficient conditions for the differentiability of mild solutions, that means, for the existence of classical solutions. An example of a functional partial differential equation with infinite delay which illustrates the obtained results is finally presented.
