Let \(X\) be a real Hilbert space with inner product \(\langle \cdot, \cdot\rangle\) and norm \(\| \cdot \|\). A mapping \(T: X\rightarrow X\) is called firmly nonexpansive if \(\| Tx-Ty \|^2 \leq \langle x-y,Tx-Ty\rangle\) for all \(x,y\in X\). \(T\) is called asymptotically regular if \(T^n x-T^{n+1}x\rightarrow 0\), as \(n\rightarrow \infty\), for all \(x\in X\). As its title clearly suggests, the main aim of the present paper is to prove that compositions and convex combinations of asymptotically regular firmly nonexpansive mappings are also asymptotically regular.
