Let \(\nu(G)\) be the number of conjugacy classes of all nonnormal subgroups of a finite \(p\)-group \(G\). The author classifies the \(p\)-groups satisfying \(\nu(G)\leq p+1\). It follows from the main result that if \(G\) is a \(p\)-group, then either \(\nu(G)\leq 1\) or \(\nu(G)\geq p\).
