Let \(G\) be a finite group and \(\mathrm{OC}(G)\) the set of order components of \(G\) [see \textit{G. Chen}, Algebra Colloq. 3, No. 1, 49-58 (1996; Zbl 0845.20011)]. In this paper, the authors prove that the simple groups \(G_2(q)\) where \(2<q\equiv-1\pmod 3\) can be uniquely determined by the set of order components.
