For a simply connected domain \(\Omega\subset\mathbb C\) with more than one boundary point, let \(f\) map conformally the unit disk \(\mathbb D\) onto \(\Omega\). The spectrum of integral means \[ \beta_f(t)=\limsup_{r\to1-0}\frac{\log\int_0^{2\pi}|f'(re^{i\theta})|^td\theta}{-\log(1-r)} \] is an important boundary characteristic of \(\Omega\). Define also the universal spectrum of integral means \[ B(t)=\sup_f\beta_f(t), \] where the supremum is taken over all bounded conformal mappings from \(\mathbb D\) into \(\mathbb C\). There are many results on upper and lower estimates of \(B(t)\) and \(\beta_f(t)\) in general and particular cases. The goal of the present paper is to prove the inequality \(\beta_f(t)\leq t^2/4\) for the conformal mappings generated by the lacunary series with lacunarity index 2. The main result is given in the following theorem. Theorem. If a function \(g\) is univalent in \(\mathbb D\) and can be represented in the form \[ \log g'(z)=\sum_{n=0}^{\infty}a_nz^{2^n},\;\;|z|<1, \] so that there exists the limit \[ \lim_{n\to\infty}a_n=a, \] then \[ \beta_g(t)\leq\frac{t^2}{4},\;\;|t|\leq1. \]
