Locally conformally Kähler structures on unimodular Lie groups (Q897077): Difference between revisions

The author studies invariant locally conformal Kähler structures on Lie groups. In particular, they characterize the unimodular Lie algebras endowed with a bi-invariant, respectively abelian complex structure and admitting locally conformal Kähler structures. Recall that a \textit{locally conformal Kähler (lcK)} structure on a complex manifold is a Hermitian structure that locally admits a conformal change being Kähler. Equivalently, the fundamental form \(\omega\) satisfies \(d\omega=\vartheta\wedge\omega\) with a closed \(1\)-form \(\vartheta\). The authors are interested in invariant (with respect to left-translations) lcK structures on compact quotients of unimodular \textit{Lie groups} with invariant complex structure. In this direction, recall the result by \textit{H. Sawai} [``Locally conformal Kähler structures on compact solvmanifolds'', Osaka J. Math. 49, No. 4, 1087--1102 (2012; Zbl 1275.53066)], stating that non-toral nilmanifolds with invariant complex structure admitting invariant lcK structures are quotients of \(\mathbb{R}\times H_{2n+1}\), where \(H_{2n+1}\) denotes the \((2n+1)\)-dimensional Heisenberg Lie group. In particular, the authors are interested in complex structures being \textit{bi-invariant}, (corresponding to a structure of complex Lie group,) respectively \textit{abelian}, (namely, the \(\sqrt{-1}\)-eigenspace of the complex structure on the complexification of the Lie algebra is an abelian sub-algebra.) The main results are the following: Theorem 4.1 and Corollary 4.4 state that there exists no unimodular Lie algebra equipped with a bi-invariant complex structure and admitting lcK structures. Theorem 5.1 states that a unimodular Lie algebra with an abelian complex structure and admitting lcK structures is the product of \(\mathbb{R}\) and a Heisenberg Lie algebra.
