Faithful tropicalisation and torus actions (Q5965194): Difference between revisions

If \(X\) is an affine variety over a non-Archimedean field, then there exists a map \(X^{\mathrm{an}}\to\mathrm{Trop}(X)\) from its analytification to its tropicalization. The main concern of this article is to find a continuous section of this map in a number of examples: linear spaces, Grassmanians of planes, the variety of matrices of rank at most two, hypersurface for Cayley's determinant. The main method exploited is a lifting of a torus action on \(X\) to an action of \(\mathbb R^n\) on \(X^{\mathrm{an}}\).
