    The main result of the present paper establishes some estimates for the trace and inverse trace of Steklov eigenvalues for functions on compact oriented Riemannian surfaces with nonempty boundary. The proofs strongly rely on conjugate harmonic forms and their properties in combination with the Hodge decomposition theorem.
