Regularity of \(\omega \)-minimizers for a class of functionals with non-standard growth (Q526953): Difference between revisions

The author proves a Hölder continuity results for the \(\omega\)-minimizers of a class of functionals with \(p,q\) growth: \[ F(v,\Omega)= \int_{\Omega} f(x,Dv) \,dx, \quad |z|^p \lesssim f(x,Dv)\lesssim |z|^q, \] in the case of a double type of degeneracy i.e. \(f(x,Dv)= |Dv|^p + a(x)|Dv|^q\), where \(a \in C^{\alpha}\) is a nonnegative function, by extending to \(\omega\)-minimizers the results recently obtained for local minimizers by \textit{M. Colombo} and \textit{G. Mingione} [Arch. Ration. Mech. Anal. 215, No. 2, 443--496 (2015; Zbl 1322.49065)]. The regularity of \(\omega\)-minimizers for a class of functionals with Orlicz-growth is also considered. The arguments of the proofs are based on the application of Ekeland's variational principle and Morrey type estimates.
