The authors present existence and uniqueness results for an initial boundary value problem corresponding to a fluid defined by a state equation (rheological relation) involving fractional derivatives. The fractional model considered in this article is analogous to the Kelvin-Voigt model. The authors prove the existence of a weak solution for the considered problem and its uniqueness in the planar case.
