This paper is concerned with the problem of representating a subring $A$ of a field $F$ as an intersection of valuations rings of $F$. Here, the author shows that a completely integrally closed subring $A$ of $F$ is the intersection of valuation rings of $F$, and that this intersection is necessarily uncountable. \par But the aim of the author is mainly to understand the topological properties of a set $X$ of the Zariski-Riemann space in terms of algebraic properties of the ring $A(X)=\bigcap_{V\in X} V$. He considered the patch topology on the Zariski-Riemann space, that is the topology generated by the sets \[ U(S)=\{V\mid S\subset V\},\ \ V(S)=\{V\mid S\not\subset V\}. \] His main result is that, if $A(X)$ is a completely integrally closed local ring that is not a valuation ring, there is $Y\subset \lim(X)$ (the set of limit points of $X$ in the patch topology), such that $A(X)=A(Y)$, and $Y$ is closed and perfect. \par From this, he deduces, in the case where $F$ is countable, that we may choose $Y$ to be a Cantor set. \par Then, the author applies these results to determines when such a $A(X)$ is a Prüfer domain.
