Let \(R\) be a commutative Noetherian ring and \(I \subset R\) be an ideal of height \(n\) such that \(\mu(I/I^2) = n\), where for a finitely generated \(R\)-module \(M\), \(\mu(M)\) denotes the minimum number of generators of \(M\). If there is a projective \(R\)-module \(P\) of rank \(n\) with trivial determinant and a surjection \(P \twoheadrightarrow I\), then \(I\) is called projectively generated. It is known that if \(n = 2\) then \(I\) is projectively generated [\textit{S. M. Bhatwadekar} and \textit{R. Sridharan}, Compos. Math. 122, No. 2, 183--222 (2000; Zbl 0999.13007)]. In the case of affine algebras of dimension \(n \geq 3\) over a field of characteristic \(0\), the authors give conditions for the ideal \(I\) to be projectively generated.
