Transforming ODEs and PDEs from radical coefficients to rational coefficients (Q2025846): Difference between revisions

Based on previous work of the authors on reparametrization of radical algebraic varieties, in this paper the authors present an algorithm that transforms, if possible, a given ordinary differential equation (ODE) or a partial differential equation (PDE) with radical function coefficients into one with rational coefficients. For this purpose, the authors consider a rational change of variables so that solutions correspond one-to-one. It is shown that the method also applies to systems of linear ODEs.
