On the first homology of automorphism groups of manifolds with geometric structures (Q2496120): Difference between revisions

It is known that the group of diffeomorphisms with compact support of a smooth manifold, isotopic to the identity, is a perfect group. In this paper the authors explore this result when the smooth manifold has a geometric structure. Also recent results on the first homology of the diffeomorphism group are surveyed. The authors have used Lipschitz category in their investigation. The paper consists of an assembly of isolated results which the authors favor. It is interesting to note that the systematic treatment of these isolated results furnishes a fair presentation of the investigation.
