Let \((K,G,\pi)\) be a quantum system with symmetry, i.e., \(\pi\) is a unitary irreducible representation of the Lie group \(G\) on the Hilbert space \(K\). Consider the orbit \(\widetilde M=\{\widetilde\pi(g)|\langle\widetilde\psi_0\rangle|g\in G\}\), where \(\widetilde\pi\) is the projective representation of \(G\) induced by \(\pi\). Then \(\widetilde M\) is called coherent state manifold. The author analyzes the connections between coherent vectors and some notions of Riemannian geometry of \(\widetilde M\), in particular, between geodesics and the cut locus \(CL_0\). Here \(\widetilde M\) is considered as a homogeneous space \(G/K\) endowed with an invariant metric. For example, the author shows that there are intimate relations between \(CL_0\) of a point corresponding to a fixed coherent vector and the polar divisor \(\Sigma_0\). Here \(\Sigma_0\) is the locus of coherent vectors orthogonal to the fixed coherent vector above. Under some technical condition, satisfied by naturally-reductive homogeneous spaces, there is the equality \(CL_0=\Sigma_0\).
