\textit{G. E. Andrews} et al. [Ramanujan J. 23, No. 1--3, 169--181 (2010; Zbl 1218.05018)] introduced the partitions of \(n\) wherein even parts are distinct and odd parts are unrestricted. The generating function of \(ped(n)\), the number of such partitions of \(n\), is given by \[ \sum_{n=0}^\infty ped(n)\,q^n = \prod_{n=1}^\infty \frac{1+q^{2n}}{1-q^{2n-1}}. \] In this paper, the author refines early work on congruences for \(ped(n)\) modulo \(2\) and \(4\) and obtain a family of new congruences for \(ped(n)\) modulo \(16\) and \(64\).
