A conjecture due to \textit{S.-T. Yau} [Semin. differential geometry, Ann. Math. Stud. 102, 669--706 (1982; Zbl 0479.53001)] asserts that any closed \(3\)-dimensional manifold must contain an infinite number of immersed minimal surfaces. This problem can be stated for minimal hypersurfaces in \((n+1)\)-dimensional manifolds \(M^{n+1}\). Many advances and results have been recently obtained when \(n<7\). In the present paper the author focuses on the case \(n\ge 7\). The main result proves that given a closed manifold \(M^{n+1}\), \(n\geq 7\), there exists a (Baire sense) generic subset of \(C^\infty\) metrics such that \(M\) endowed with any one of those metrics contains infinitely many singular minimal hypersurfaces with optimal regularity.
