A complex projective manifold \(M\) is said to have effective good divisibility up to degree \(s\) if the intersection of two non zero effective cycles of codimension \(i\) and \(j\), \(i+j \leq s\) does not vanish. The effective good divisibility of \(M\) is the maximum of such \(s\)'s. It is an interesting invariant of \(M\) which can be applied to study the possible non constant maps whose target is \(M\). In the paper under review, the effective good divisibility of rational homogeneous varieties, i.e., quotients of simple (and simply- connected) Lie groups \(G\) by a parabolic subgroup \(P\), are computed. The authors first (see Theorem 1.1) deal with the case, say, of Grassmannians, that is, when the parabolic group corresponds to the choice of a vertex in the corresponding Dynkin diagram. Results are collected in Table 1, both for the classical and the special groups. Then the computation is completed (see Theorem. 1.2) for any possible choice of a parabolic subgroup, i.e., for any flag. As a consequence (see Theorem 1.4), any map from any connected complex projective manifold to \(G/P\) is constant whenever the effective good divisibility of the domain is bigger than that of the target and, in the particular case of homogeneous varieties, a very explicit statement on possible non constant maps, is provided in Corollary 1.5. It is worth to mention that, at the same time but with different techniques, the same computations of the effective good divisibility of \(G/P\), \(G\) of classical type, as well as similar consequences on maps on such varieties, have been stated in [\textit{R. Muñoz} et al., Math. Nachr. 297, No. 1, 174--194 (2024; Zbl 07794282)].
