Harmonic maps are the critical points of the energy functional. The Euler-Lagrange equation states that the tension field vanishes. Biharmonic maps are those whose Euler-Lagrange equations are the critical points of the bi-energy functional. The author considers a triplet \((G,H,K)\) of a compact Lie group \(G\) and two closed subgroups \(H\) and \(K\) of \(G\), and associates to this the double fibration \((G/H, h_1)\leftarrow(G, g)\to (K\backslash G, h_2)\). The main result states that every \(K\)-invariant minimal or biharmonic hypersurface \(M\) in \((G/H, h_1)\) induces an \(H\)-invariant minimal or biharmonic hypersurface \(\tilde{M}\) in \((K\backslash G, h_2)\). Also, there is a one to one correspondence between the class of all \(K\)-invariant minimal or biharmonic hypersurfaces in \(G/H\) and the class of all \(H\)-invariant minimal or biharmonic hypersurfaces in \(K\backslash G\).
