\textit{A. Beauville} and \textit{C. Voisin} [J. Algebr. Geom. 13, No. 3, 417--426 (2004; Zbl 1069.14006)] showed that all points of a \(K3\) surface \(X\) which lie on some rational curve have the same class \(c_X\) in the Chow group \(\text{CH}_0(X)\) of zero-cycles. The purpose of the present paper is to show the existence of higher dimensional varieties which have analogous properties as \(K3\) surfaces do. The main result is as follows. Let \(Y\) be a complex projective variety of dimension \(n+1\) homogeneous under an action of a semisimple and simply connected algebraic group and let \(X\) be a smooth element of the anti-canonical system \(|-K_Y|\) on \(Y\). Then (a) there exists a codimension-one subvariety \(Z\) of \(X\) such that all points of \(Z\) have the same class \(c_X\) in \(\text{CH}_0(X)\), (b) the image of the intersection product \(\text{Pic}(X)^{\otimes n}\rightarrow \text{CH}_0(X)\) is contained in \(\mathbb{Z}c_X\), and (c) the top Chern class \(c_n(X)\in \text{CH}_0(X)\) is proportional to \(c_X\).
