Let \(F\) denote a local field of chracteristic zero and let \(D\) stand for a quaternion algebra over \(F\). The quaternionic unitary group is the isometry group of the \(\epsilon\)-hermitian space over \(D\). For an irreducible representation \(\pi\) of either quaternionic unitary group or \(\mathrm{GL}_n(D)\), character \(\omega\) of \(F^{\times}\), and a non-trivial additive character \(\psi\) of \(F\), in the paper under the review the author gives a precise definition the analytic \(\gamma\)-factor of \(\pi\), with respect to \(\omega\) and \(\psi\), and provides its characterisation.
