A (pure) \(d\)-dimensional simplicial complex \(C\) is called \textit{constructible} if \(C\) is the face complex of a \(d\)-simplex, or there exist \(d\)-dimensional constructible subcomplexes \(C_1\) and \(C_2\) such that \(C = C_{1}\cup C_{2}\) and that \(C_{1}\cap C_2\) is a \((d-1)\)-dimensional constructible complex. A constructible pseudomanifold is known to be a simplicial ball or a simplicial sphere. The author establishes sufficient conditions for \(3\)-dimensional simplicial balls to be non-constructible.
