Let us recall that the theory of Lie groupoids plays a central role in several branches of mathematics and especially in noncommutative geometry. The purpose of this work is to exhibit a explicit morphism from the deformation complex of a Lie groupoid to the Hochschild complex of its convolution algebra. First, the authors review the notions of Lie groupoids and convolution algebras. Then, the morphism is constructed and they obtain the van Est map by taking the classical limit of a quantization map on the dual of the Lie algebra.
