    The authors study the reachability of the sliding mode for a linear control system with a disturbance. They prove that, under suitable conditions concerning the matrices of the dynamics, the reachability of the terminal sliding mode is achieved in finite time. They also provide sufficient conditions for avoiding the singularity of the control when the system enters the sliding mode.
