In this paper, the authors analyze the Dirichlet problem for the (bi)singularly perturbed {\parindent=0.7cm\begin{itemize}\item[(a)] second-order ordinary differential equation with a turning point of the \(n\)th order \[ \varepsilon y''(x)-x^ny(x)=f(x),\;y(0)=y(1)=0,\;0<\varepsilon\ll 1 \] and \(f\) is a smooth function with \(f(0)\neq 0;\) \item[(b)] elliptic partial differential equation of second order on the unit disk. \end{itemize}} Using a modification of the method of boundary functions and the asymptotic expansion techniques, the authors construct the asymptotic expansions of the solutions for the problems under consideration which provide their approximations for \(\epsilon\rightarrow 0^+\) on \([0,1]\) and on the unit disk, respectively.
