The authors develop a fully discrete collocation method for the numerical solution of a class of weakly singular linear integro-differential equations of Fredholm type associated with appropriate initial or boundary conditions. The method is based on an approximation of the unknown solution by piecewise polynomials on a graded mesh. A detailed error analysis is given and the results of this analysis are confirmed by numerical examples.
