Two subgroups \(A\) and \(B\) of a group \(G\) are said to be mutually permutable if \(AY=YA\) and \(BX=XB\) for all subgroups \(X\) of \(A\) and \(Y\) of \(B\). In the paper under review, the authors prove the following result (Theorem B): Let \(G=AB\) be a linear group which is factorized by two mutually permutable periodic subgroups \(A\) and \(B\). Then \(A\cap B\), \(A'\) and \(B'\) are subnormal subgroups of \(G\). Let \(\mathfrak{M}\) be the class of all minimax groups containing a soluble subgroup of finite index and let \(\rho(G)\) be the Hirsch-Plotkin radical of \(G\). The authors prove Theorem A: If \(G=AB\) is a locally-\(\mathfrak{M}\) group which is factorized by two mutually permutable subgroups \(A\) and \(B\), then \(\langle \rho(A), \rho(B) \rangle^{G} \leq \rho(G')\).
