Let \(k\) be a field, let \(G\) and \(\widetilde{G}\) be two connected reductive \(k\)-groups and let \(\Gamma\) be a finite group that acts on a maximal \(k\)-torus \(\widetilde{T} \leq \widetilde{G}\) via \(k\)-automorphisms that preserve a positive root system for \((\widetilde{G}, \widetilde{T})\) and \(G\) is parascopic for \(\widetilde{G}\) and the action of \(\Gamma\) is as defined by the authors in [Can. J. Math. 66, No. 6, 1201--1224 (2014; Zbl 1309.20037)]. If both \(G\) and \(\widetilde{G}\) are \(k\)-quasisplit, then the authors constructed a map \(\widetilde{\mathcal{N}}^{\mathrm{st}}\) in the dual \(G^{\wedge}(k)\) to the set of such classes in \(\widetilde{G}^{\wedge}(k)\). When \(k\) is finite, this implies a lifting from packets of representations of \(G^{\wedge}(k)\) to those of \(\widetilde{G}^{\wedge}(k)\). In order to understand such a lifting better, the authors describe two ways in which \(\widetilde{\mathcal{N}}^{\mathrm{st}}\) can be made more explicit. First, they express such a map in the general case in terms of simpler cases. They do so by showing that \(\widetilde{\mathcal{N}}^{\mathrm{st}}\) is compatible with isogenies and with Weil restriction, and also by expressing it as a composition of simpler maps. Second, in many cases they can construct an explicit \(k\)-morphism \(\widetilde{N}: G^{\wedge} \rightarrow \widetilde{G}^{\wedge}\) that agrees with \(\widetilde{\mathcal{N}}^{\mathrm{st}}\).
