The authors investigate the spreading speeds and traveling wave solutions of a nonlocal dispersal equation with degenerate monostable nonlinearity by using the Laplace transform and the maximum principle in complex analysis based on the paper of \textit{J. Coville} and \textit{L. Dupaigne} in [Proc. R. Soc. Edinb., Sect. A, Math. 137, No. 4, 727--755 (2007; Zbl 1133.35056)].
