It is shown that if \(X\) is an infinite set and \({\mathcal L}\) an algebraic and dually algebraic distributive lattice containing at most \(2^{| X| }\) completely join-irreducible elements then there exists a monoid \({\mathcal M}\) of unary functions over \(X\) such that the interval of all clones over \(X\) with unary part \({\mathcal M}\) is isomorphic to the lattice \(1+{\mathcal L}\) which arises from \({\mathcal L}\) by adding a new smallest element. Several consequences are drawn from this theorem.
