In a recent paper of the first author [``Convergence and stability issues in mathematical cosmology'', in: General relativity and gravitation -- a centennial perspective. Cambridge, UK: Cambridge University Press (2015); Zbl 1332.83005] it is argued that there exist many closed three manifolds that do not admit a locally isotropic and homogeneous metric that nevertheless evolve into space-times compatible with the current structure of the universe. This article takes into account the contribution of dark matter to this process.
