    A cubic diagram is a cubic graph \(G\) drawn in the plane. Its Penrose number is a certain invariant related to the number of edge 3-colorings of \(G\). In the paperthe Penrose number of a cubic diagram is expressed in terms of Eulerian orientation of its line-graph, and special results are presented for the case that \(G\) is planar. [Cf. \textit{R.
