The book ``Communication and cooperation in agent systems'' written by Afsaneh Haddadi is suitable for the readers who are interested in the design and analysis of agent systems. A theoretical formalism of intelligent and dynamic cooperation and communication among agents in a distributed environment is outlined in depth, and specially, the concept of cooperation protocols allowing the representation of various methods of cooperation and possible patterns of dialogue are introduced. The book also describes how agents may reason about and buildup the steps of their dialogue dynamically. The literature review materials provided in the introductory chapters will be useful to those starting in the field of agent systems and agent theories. References to the existing architectures for intentional agents are also given. The main chapters of the book are listed as following: introduction, review of the theories on agents, a formal theory of commitments, specification of reasoning behind interaction, modelling interactions in COSY agent architecture, summary and conclusion.
