The definition of a starter-translate 2-sequencing is given. Then, it is shown that if a finite group G of odd order has a starter-translate 2- sequencing and a finite group H has a 2-sequencing, then the group \(G\times H\) has a 2-sequencing (Theorem 6). This generalizes a theorem of \textit{R. A. Bailey} [J. R. Stat. Soc., Ser. B 46, 323-334 (1984; Zbl 0557.05018)]. In the final part of the paper, special cases of this result are applied to various questions involving sequencings of groups.
