A closed subspace \(Y\) of a Banach space \(X\) is called 1-complemented in \(X\) if there exists a projection \(P: X\to Y\) such that \(\| P\|=1\) and for any other projection \(Q: X\to Y\) we have \(\| Q\|\geq 1\). It is studied the question when hyperplanes and their finite intersections are 1-complemented. It is proved, f.e., that a hyperplane \(Y=f^{-1}(0)\) in \(\ell_ 1\) is 1-complemented iff \(f\) has at most two non null components.
