A periodic-linearly convergent power series is a series \(\sum a_ nz^ n\) such that \(\lim_{k\to\infty}{a_{kp+i+1}\over a_{kp+i}}\) exists for \(0\leq i < p\) in \(\mathbb{C}\backslash\{0,1\}\). The author investigates the Cauchy-type approximants introduced by \textit{C. Brezinski} [Padé type approximation and general orthogonal polynomials (1980; Zbl 0418.41012)] and generalizing his Padé-type approximants to the above series. It is shown that under some sufficient conditions the sequences of the Cauchy type approximants converge faster than the partial sums. A new series transformation accelerating the convergence of the partial sums is also proposed in the case where the above conditions are not satisfied. Numerical illustrations are given.
