Baum-Connes conjecture and coarse geometry (Q1897326)

This paper is an appendix to another one by the same author [\(K\)-Theory 9, No. 3, 199-221 (1995; see the preceding review)]. The following theorem is the main result of this paper: Let \(\Gamma\) be a discrete group with a length metric. If \(\Gamma\) is proper as a metric space with a length metric, then the Baum-Connes conjecture for \(\Gamma\) with coefficients in \(\ell_\infty (\Gamma, K)\) is equivalent to the coarse Baum-Connes conjecture for \(\Gamma\) as a metric space with the length metric.
