In [\textit{G. Shen}, Chin. Ann. Math., Ser. B 9, 404-417 (1988; Zbl 0689.17011)] the reviewer classified the irreducible graded modules of the graded Lie algebras of Cartan type \(W(m,{\mathbf n})\), \(S(m,{\mathbf n})\) and \(H(m,{\mathbf n})\) and in particular, the irreducible restricted modules of the restricted Lie algebras \(W(m,\text{\textbf{1}})\), \(S(m,\text{\textbf{1}})\) and \(H(m,\text{\textbf{1}})\). They are modules induced from the irreducible modules of the subalgebra of nonnegative components except a few special cases, the ``exceptional modules''. However, the reviewer's discussion of the exceptional irreducible modules of \(H(m,{\mathbf n})\) contains some technical errors. In the article under review, the author gives a precise and detailed description of the exceptional irreducible restricted modules of \(H(m,\text{\textbf{1}})\) (under the assumption that the characteristic \(p>m/2)\). In particular, an accurate formula for the dimensions of the exceptional modules is given. It also seems possible to generalize the main results to the graded modules of \(H(m,{\mathbf n})\). The reviewer personally appreciates the author's correction of the errors in his above-mentioned article that helps to avoid further confusions.
