The stability of a certain class of nonlinear multidimensional (MD) systems is investigated. The direct path includes a nonlinear continuous-time MD system denoted by \(G\) whereas the feedback path contains a digital controller denoted by \(\widehat C\). The output of \(G\) is subjected to a multirate sampling so providing the input of the digital controller. The output of \(\widehat C\) is converted into a continuous-time signal by means of a zero order holding. We note that same symbols used in the paper (e.g. lifted column vector, (1.6)) are not clearly defined. The stability of the overall system is investigated and characterized in terms of the stability of the linearized (without feedback) system (the so-called linearized plant). Some interesting theorems insuring the stability in terms of the eigenvalues of an enlarged matrix including as blocks the matrices describing the entering subsystems are derived. First, the effect of quantization nonlinearities are ignored, then some conclusions pertaining the effects of their presence are derived.
