Matrices with block Toeplitz inverses (Q1071842)

Necessary and sufficient conditions for a nonsingular matrix A to have a block Toeplitz inverse are obtained, as well as a simpler criterion in the case that A is a block Toeplitz matrix. These results generalize those of \textit{N. M. Huang} and \textit{R. E. Cline} [J. Assoc. Comput. Machin. 19, 437-444 (1972; Zbl 0259.65032)] for the non-block case, for which alternative statements and proofs are also indicated.
