Constant mean curvature hypersurfaces with two distinct principal curvatures of the unitary sphere \(S^{n+1}\) are investigated and a characterization for a torus is obtained in accordance with the following results: Let \(M\) be an \(n\)-dimensional \((n\geq 3)\) connected, complete hypersurface of the unit sphere \(S^{n+1}\), with constant mean curvature \(H\) and with two distinct principal curvatures such that one of them has multiplicity \(n-1\). Let \(S\) denote the square norm of the second fundamental form of \(M\), and \[ \varphi_{\pm}=n+\frac{n^3H^2}{2(n-1)}\pm\frac{n(n-2)}{2(n-1)} \sqrt{n^2H^4+4(n-1)H^2}. \] If \(S\geq \varphi_{+}\) then \(S=\varphi_{+}\) and \(M\) is isometric to the Riemannian product \(S^1(\sqrt{a})\times S^{n-1}(\sqrt{1-a^2})\), where \[ a^2 = \frac{2+nH^2 - \sqrt{n^2H^4+4(n-1)H^2}}{2n(1+H^2)}. \] If \(S\leq \varphi_{-}\), then \(S=\varphi_{-}\) and \(M\) is isometric to the Riemannian product \(S^1(\sqrt{b})\times S^{n-1}(\sqrt{1-b^2})\), where \[ b^2 =\frac{2+nH^2 + \sqrt{n^2H^4+4(n-1)H^2}}{2n(1+H^2)}. \] Moreover, if \(H=0\) and \(S\leq n\), then \(S=n\) and \(M\) is isometric to the Riemannian product \(S^m(\sqrt{\frac{m}{n}})\times S^{n-m}(\sqrt{\frac{n-m}{n}})\), \(1\leq m\leq n-1\).
