    Let \(A\) be an Artin algebra. A pair \((C,T)\) of \(A\)-modules is called a tilting pair provided that both \(C\) and \(T\) are selforthogonal, \(T\) has a finite resolution by modules from the additive closure of \(C\), and \(C\) has a finite coresolution by modules from the additive closure of \(T\). The present paper gives a characterization of tilting pairs in terms of perpendicular subcategories, generalizing the corresponding result of \textit{S.~Bazzoni} for tilting modules [see J. Algebra 273, No. 1, 359-372 (2004; Zbl 1051.16007)].
