We know that the Drinfel'd double \(D(H)\) is a Hopf algebra with a projection, for a finite dimensional quasitriangular Hopf algebra \(H\). The authors in this paper use the evaluation pairing to construct the generalized quantum double \(D(H_\sigma^{\text{cop}},H)\) for a coquasitriangular Hopf algebra \((H,\sigma)\) but not necessarily finite dimensional. Also, if \(H\) is finite dimensional, then \(H_\sigma^{\text{cop}}=(H^*_R)^{\text{cop}}\) has a quasitriangular structure and there exists a morphism of Hopf algebras covering the natural inclusion from \(D(H_\sigma^{\text{cop}},H)\) to \(H_\sigma^{\text{cop}}\), which imply that \(D(H_\sigma^{\text{cop}},H)\) is a Hopf algebra with a projection, generalizing the classical result. Applying the result above to a braided Hopf algebra \((H,\sigma)\), the authors give explicitly the induced structure on \(H\) in the category of Yetter-Drinfel'd modules over \(H_\sigma^{\text{cop}}\). In particular, when \(H=\text{SL}_q(N)\), the quantum group, \(H_\sigma\) is \(U_q^{\text{ext}}(sl_N)\) and \(\text{SL}_q(N)\) has the corresponding structure in the category of left Yetter-Drinfel'd modules over \(U_q^{\text{ext}}(sl_N)^{\text{cop}}\).
