    For a given \(t_f\), the authors consider the problem of finding the pair \(\{T(x,t),\sigma(t)\}\) from the system \[ \begin{cases} T_t(x,t) =T_{xx}(x,t), &\forall (x,t) \in (0,1) \times (0,t_f),\\ T(x,0) = T_0(x), &\forall x \in (0,1),\\ -T_x(0,t)+ \sigma(t)T(0,t)=h_0(t), &\forall t \in (0,t_f),\\ T_x(1,t)+ \sigma(t)T(1,t)=h_1(t), &\forall t \in (0,t_f) \end{cases} \] and the non-standard boundary measurement \[ E(t) = T^2(0,1) + T^2(1,t), \quad \forall t \in [0,t_f], \] with \(E\) being a given positive function. Under some conditions they prove the uniqueness of the solution and numerically solve the problem using the boundary element method.
